How to Program a Ford Key Fob
If you recently got a set of replacement keys, or if your current set isn’t functioning properly, you may be wondering how to program a Ford key fob. New Ford models often come with a remote key fob for easy access and convenience, but making sure everything works tends to leave some Elk River drivers confused. Ford Key Fob Programming Instructions
The Ford key fob programming process is quite simple if you follow these instructions.
- When parked in your Rogers driveway, make sure all the doors are closed.
- Proceed to open the driver-side door, pressing the UNLOCK button inside the door.
- Get behind the wheel, and turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 8 times within 10 seconds. The final time should end on RUN, which gets you into programming mode.
- At this point, the door locks will cycle between lock and unlock. If this doesn’t happen, start the process over, turning the key faster.
- Within 8 seconds, press any button on your Ford remote for programming. Again, the door locks will cycle, signaling confirmation that keyless entry is programmed and ready to use.
- If you have another key fob to program, repeat the process again.
- When all key fobs are programmed, turn the ignition to OFF. Your locks should cycle again, confirming that your Ford key fob programming is complete.
Of course, when you’re finished, you will want to test out your key fobs to ensure that you can remotely lock and unlock your car. If they’re working, then you’re good to go!
